Crime in America has been increasing at an alarming rate!
Statistics say that prison population is skyrocketing to new heights, and there are more very young prisoners and more older prisoners than ever before.
- It costs from $20,000.00 to $60,000.00 a year to keep a man in prison.
- It can cost taxpayers up to one million dollars to keep a man in prison for life.
- In just one state, California, the annual prison budget is more than one billion dollars
It is our, hard-earned tax dollars, our money!Correctional system statistics says, that 75% of prisoners, upon release will go back to prison within one year. Most prisons can serve as an "educational institution" for first-time offenders. Sometimes young prisoners learn how to commit worse crimes through association with older hardened criminals.
Another statistic says that among prisoners who accepted the moral standards of the Bible, the recidivism rate is very low.
Whether a prisoner is old or young, a hardened heart can only be changed by the person of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice.
