The purpose of the judicial system and of the prison system is to punish lawbreakers, to protect the public by isolating and imprisoning criminals.

But the purpose of religion is to change, improve, and transform men and women through a personal relationship with God. Most criminals return to prison within a short time, but statistics show that truly converted prison inmates have an extremely low rate of recidivism.

A clear statistic from the Ukraine prisons shows that, while 121,000 unconverted prisoners had more than 127,000 violations of prison rules in a year, the 6,000 newly converted believers had only 23 rules violations.

Update: Just recently we have received a report from Lieutenant General Shtanko, in charge of the Penitentiary Department of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Today there are 7,400 Christians in Ukrainian prisons . If the average crime there is one violation per inmate each year, there was not one violation among Christian inmates.
